At 14:00 on Friday we will play a friendly at the DAC Academy in Dunajská Streda ahead of the derby against Vasas.
The yellow-and-blue side currently sit third in the Slovak top flight with eight wins, four draws and two defeats, just two points behind second-placed Slovan Bratislava and three behind leaders Žilina. DAC have won each of their last three league matches, most recently taking all three points from Ružomberok. Before that they also overcame Petržalka away in the Slovak Cup to reach the last 16.
Montenegrin Viktor Djukanovic leads the club's league scoring chart with eight goals, closely followed by seven-goal Damir Redzic, who has also been called up to the Hungary national team, and Ammar Ramadan with six goals.
The team has been coached by 44-year-old Slovak Branislav Fodrek since November 2024. His record from 36 competitive matches is 20 wins, 12 draws and four defeats.
Of the current squads of the two clubs, only Tomás Tujvel has played for both teams; our goalkeeper represented Dunajská Streda in the 2015–16 season.
We last played DAC in March 2015, when the visitors won 2–0 in Kispest thanks to a Jakub Brasen brace. In 2025 this will already be our fourth match against a side playing in the Slovak league. In January we beat Slovan II 3–0 through goals from Zoltán Medgyes, Benedek Simon and Balázs Farkas. In July we lost 3–0 to KFC Komarno, then beat the Komárno club's second team 2–0 thanks to goals from Szamosi and Ihrig-Farkas.
Our last five matches against DAC:
2015: Honvéd–DAC 0–2
2013: Honvéd–DAC 1–2 (Our goalscorer: Diaby)
2012: Honvéd–DAC 1–2 (Our goalscorer: Faggyas)
2011: Honvéd–DAC 1–1 (Our goalscorer: Hajdú)
