In the 2026 UEFA Grassroots Awards, in the category 'Best Initiative by Professional Football Clubs', we won the bronze award behind Swedish and Scottish clubs. The award was presented at the derby against Vasas FC by representatives of the Hungarian Football Federation to Budapest Honvéd's regional director, Vatai Attilának, and our managing director, Séllei Árpádnak.
The initiative aims to encourage professional clubs to use their resources and professional expertise to support amateur football and increase access to the game, particularly for children. Through our partner-club programme in Kispest and work with kindergartens and schools, in cooperation with the Hungarian Football Federation, our club has so far engaged more than 11,000 children and introduced them to the world of football.
The bronze award is excellent confirmation that our club's consistent work in youth development and community development also creates value at international level. We thank our colleagues for their dedication and persistent work, which contributed to this recognition!
