At 20:00 on Thursday, we host Diósgyőr, who sit second from bottom in NB I, in the MOL Hungarian Cup quarter-final. Qualification will be decided over one match. If the teams are level after regular time, 2x15 minutes of extra time will follow; if there is still no winner, the tie will be decided by a penalty shootout. A place in the last four is at stake.
The winner of the match will host the winner of Wednesday's Zalaegerszeg–Soroksár tie on April 22.
Interestingly, this will be the first time we host Diósgyőr at Bozsik Aréna since it opened in 2021, as the two teams last met in a competitive match just a few days short of five years ago.

Route to the last eight:
DVTK faced third-, second- and then first-division opposition, in that order, in this season's Hungarian Cup. The red-and-whites first won 3–1 at Hódmezővásárhely thanks to two Saponjic penalties, with Aboubakar Keita also scoring alongside the Serbian forward. They then eliminated NB II side Szeged-Csanád Grosics Akadémia with a 2–0 home win, Máté Sajbán's brace making the difference. In the previous round they knocked out the winners of the last two editions, Paks, with a 6–2 away victory. As in their first two cup matches, DVTK again had a player score twice at Paks, this time both Lamin Colley and Márk Mucsányi.
We began this season's competition away to county first-division side Mór, where goals from Baki, Sigér, Kántor and Erik Kovács gave us a 4–1 win in our opening tie. Then, in one of the most memorable matches of the season, we came from behind away to DVSC thanks to goals from Pauljevic and Zuigeber. In the previous round we hosted ESMTK, and in the second half both Baki and Medgyes found the Pesterzsébet net. That victory means we can play a Hungarian Cup quarter-final again for the first time in four years.
Players with both clubs:
DVTK's squad includes two former Honvéd players. Gábor Megyeri played one competitive match in Kispest, making his debut against Kisvárda last season, while Gergő Holdampf made two NB I appearances in the 2018-19 campaign.
Three members of our squad have also previously played for the Miskolc club. Kevin Kállai appeared in 6 NB I matches during the spring half of last season and scored one goal. Ádám Szamosi and Szilveszter Hetyei both previously played for DVTK's second team, with Szamosi also named in the NB I squad six times. Our head coach Tamás Feczkó managed the red-and-whites in 45 competitive matches between 2019 and 2020.
Head-to-head matches:
The two clubs have met in 114 league matches, 112 of them in the top flight, so this fixture has a substantial history and now returns to Hungarian football after a break of almost five years. Their most recent meeting came in spring 2021, when the teams drew 0–0 in Miskolc, while the last Honvéd home fixture against Diósgyőr was played in December 2020 and ended in an emphatic 5–1 win for the Budapest side.
