There was no easy match in store for our team as we hosted seventh-placed Aqvital FC Csákvár in Round 22 of the Merkantil Bank Liga, knowing that a win would definitely move us above the line.
Before kick-off, we remembered our tragically deceased fellow supporter Gergő Bordás and our legend Lajos Tichy, while also greeting our former greats Péter Disztl and Sándor Sallai on their 65th birthdays.
We created the first big chance of the match when Noel Keresztes missed Hangya's cross by mere centimetres. Although he was able to make an attempt from close range, he could no longer direct the ball and it flew over the goal.
Barely three minutes later, Csákvár, clearly set up to counter-attack, put together a fine move and Viktor Haragos converted Dusinszki's pass (0-1). We dominated after that. Our biggest chance came after an accurate corner from Csontos, which fell to Csonka, but there was no goal to celebrate. In the 31st minute, Bévárdi brilliantly played Kevin Kántor through – our forward sent his defender the wrong way with an excellent piece of skill – and he could only be stopped illegally inside the penalty area. Káprály pointed to the spot, and Csontos confidently converted the penalty (1-1).
In first-half stoppage time, Varga struck the crossbar directly from a free-kick. After the restart, in the 48th minute Kántor tried to bicycle-kick Keresztes's cross towards goal, but the ball instead came off Medgyes's foot and ended up in the left side of the net (2-1). Our team continued with similar intensity and almost scored again in the 53rd minute: Medgyes fired at goal from a slightly tight angle and although Zelizi saved, both Pekár and then Kántor came within centimetres of forcing home the rebound. Neither side created a major chance after that, so we recorded a one-goal victory.
After beating Kozármisleny and Soroksár, we were able to celebrate a third consecutive victory at the Bozsik Arena.
Next week, on Sunday from 14.00, our team will be away to BVSC-Zugló.

Tamás Feczkó's assessment:
We played very well in the first half and did not panic even after going behind because the comeback was there in the game. It annoys me that after our second goal we could not get the third; we had several chances to do so. At the same time, I am pleased that after that our goalkeeper did not have to make a save. I am proud of my players for showing the side of themselves that is needed when you have to fight tooth and nail for success. Psychologically, this was a very important win. We owed this to the club's supporters and employees, and to Bordi and his family as well. It may be a sign from above that in this match, precisely in the 30th minute, we were awarded our first penalty of the league season.
Balázs Tóth's assessment:
It is always a pleasure to be able to play at a place like this. We prepared well for our opponents. We started the match well, and our early goal showed how quickly we can play after the opposition loses the ball. After the goal we were able to come back into the match and we also hit the woodwork twice with excellent efforts. In the second half we conceded quickly from an individual error, after which we tried to change the team. We played quite well with four young players, but in the attacking third we ran out of creativity.
