Last week four of our age-group teams were in action, with our U14, U15, U16 and U19 sides facing Dunaszerdahely. The U17 friendly was cancelled due to a mass illness outbreak.

U14:

FC DAC 1904 (Slovakia)–Budapest Honvéd FC 3–3 (1–1)

Line-up: Márton Ehmann, Zoltán Karácsony, Benedek Horváth, Zétény Oláh-Sebők, Csaba Tóth Junior, Bence Palaga, Kevin Hanzély, Botond Kovács, Miron Marte, Kevin Málint, Erik Gerencsér

Substitutes: Máté Pándi, Toluwa Bababola, Tiwadire, Maksim Kamber, Márk Keindl, Krisztián Bejenaru, Olivér Oke Olamide, Benjamin Chukwuemeka Nnadi

Goalscorers: Benedek Horváth, Kevin Hanzély, Olivér Oke Olamide

Gergely Fűzfa, head coach:

“We are constantly trying to develop the boys, but in today’s match they made many technical and decision-making errors. A positive is that we managed to score three goals, although we created few serious chances from open play. It is important to play international matches like this and similar ones, because they give us the opportunity to practise under pressure the elements we work on in training. We wish our opponents every success for the spring season!"

U15:

FC DAC 1904 (Slovakia)–Budapest Honvéd FC 3–1 (2–1)

Line-up: Milán Petró, Krisztián Palásti, Dániel Schill, Roland Józsa, Róbert Gerebenes, Péter Szijjártó, Zsolt Török, Botond Gábor Varga, Benedek Nyiri, Milán Malomsoki

Substitutes: Zalán Andor Szabó, Richárd Pisont, Hunor Bolyki, Gergő Matyó, András Vass, Péter Balázs, Dominik Szabó

Goalscorer: Milán Malomsoki

Tamás Szamosi, head coach:

“We started the match well, took the lead through Malomsoki and kept DAC under pressure. The opponent’s first goal came after an individual mistake; after that they had more possession, and their second came from a well-struck free kick. In the second half we created several big chances, especially clear-cut ones, but could not convert them, and DAC finished the match off with a third goal."

U16:

FC DAC 1904 (Slovakia)–Budapest Honvéd FC 1–3 (1–2)

Line-up: Krisztián Székely, Olivér Barton, Botond Horváth-Garaba, Soma Kalicsek, Márk Érsek, Botond Hegyes, Magor Marinyák, Bence Domány, Olivér Kardos, Kornél Solymos, Hunor Hajagos

Substitutes: András Komzsik, Márk Jakab, Máté Németh, Márton Menyhárt

István Körtvélyesi, head coach:

“We played a very good match against Dunaszerdahely. The game had plenty of momentum and dynamism. Both the opponents and we tried to win the ball high up the pitch. Both teams played with an excellent approach, and we were able to apply throughout the match what we had worked on during the week. Unfortunately our finishing was inaccurate; the number of chances we created is not reflected in the score, and I expected a more convincing victory. Congratulations to the team, we keep working."

U19:

Budapest Honvéd FC – FC DAC 1904 (Slovakia) 4–0 (2–0)

Line-up: István Tarjáni, Áron Russnák, Álmos Horváth, Ádám Csörgő, Barna Kecskés, Ferenc Joó, Márk Meskó, Rupert Komlósi, Ábel Kovács, Erik Kovács, Milán Miták

Substitutes: Barnabás Balogh, Marcell Merkl, Ferenc Miksa Szanka, Dániel Shodunke

Goalscorers: Erik Kovács (2), Ádám Csörgő, Rupert Komlósi

Márton Bogdánfi, head coach:

“In the first twenty minutes our play in possession was particularly good. We were patient, created numerical overloads well on the flanks and played the situations accurately, which was also reflected in the score. In the next period our game became rushed and direct, we had problems with the rhythm and lost the ball unnecessarily often. Our defending worked well, especially the high press, and we were aggressive. Our reactions in transition were quick. It is particularly pleasing that elements that featured among our objectives for the week appeared in our play, and we were able to practise them in a match environment as well. We could also focus on the workload, as illness had left us very short of numbers. Overall it was a useful match, we received good feedback from the boys and we are on the right track."
