At the third attempt, we finally managed to play our league match in Tiszaföldvár. After the original date, the pitch was still unsuitable on the first rescheduled day as well.
The quality of the pitch was still far from ideal and had a major impact on the nature of the match. The only goal came in the 70th minute, when home defender Csaba Szabó found the net after a corner.
Gábor Kovács’s assessment: It was a typical one-goal match; unfortunately this time the home team managed to score the winner after a corner. The quality of the pitch had a major influence on the game because it was completely unsuitable for short-passing, combination football. We were forced into a style of play in which our opponent was better (kick and rush), and it has to be acknowledged that they play that style at a higher level. We had chances both to win and to equalise, but we could not take them. I congratulated the team for its attitude and effort, but unfortunately I could not congratulate them for the result.
In the next round, on Sunday from 16:00, we will be away to Szegedi VSE.
