The 2025–26 NB II season has reached its final round, but there is still something at stake for our team. If we beat BVSC and Ajka win at the same time in Angyalföld, we can also claim the league title. On Sunday from 16:30 on Szőnyi út, we say farewell not only to the season but also to NB II, as we will begin the 2026–27 campaign in the top flight.
We are bringing to a close a season filled with emotions and wonderful memories, one that may yet have another twist and more euphoric moments in its final act.
BVSC have performed much better in the spring than they did in the autumn. Dragan Vukmir's side have collected ten more points in the 2026 calendar year, winning away at Vasas, beating Videoton, the in-form Kozármisleny and bronze medallists Kecskemét, the latter two away from home. As a result, the threat of relegation had disappeared by the run-in and they go into the final match in eighth place.
Supporter information:
- The match kicks off at 16:30 on Sunday, 17 May at the BVSC Stadion in Zugló.

Several former Honvéd players are currently with BVSC: Dominik Kaczvinszki and Ákos Király played competitive matches for our second team, while Balázs Farkas scored twice in 14 NB II league appearances in red and black last season. Adrián Dénes is also a Honvéd academy product and has scored seven times for BVSC this season.
Head-to-head meetings:
We have faced BVSC-Zugló 20 times in NB I, four times in NB II and three times in the Hungarian Cup over the course of history. There have repeatedly been periods when the two sides met much more frequently; alongside the 1990s, the past two and a half years can also be placed in that category. In the earlier period, eight of the 16 top-flight meetings ended in Kispest victories, and in 1996 we won the Hungarian Cup against the railwaymen.
Since the summer of 2023, we have played no fewer than eight matches against BVSC. In summer pre-season we won 6–1 in Zugló, but in the league we could only manage a 1–1 draw at the Bozsik Aréna. We then scored six again in a winter friendly, but another dropped point followed in the league; interestingly, that match was also played on Szőnyi út in the final round.
BVSC–Honvéd 0–0 (highlights)
The following season, both meetings produced away wins: BVSC won 1–0 in Kispest through a Benkő-Bíró goal, while last April we took all three points from Zugló thanks to a Medgyes brace.
BVSC-Zugló – Budapest Honvéd FC 1–2 (1–1), Merkantil Bank Liga, Round 23 – highlights
In July, we faced BVSC in our final warm-up before the league campaign. Pekár answered Csontos's penalty at the other end, before Zuigeber's long-range strike and Baki's header gave us a two-goal advantage in the second half. Dragan Vukmir's side pulled one back through Csernik, but could not find an equaliser.
Budapest Honvéd FC – BVSC-Zugló 3–2, friendly – highlights
We most recently faced the capital's yellow-and-blues on 30 November. Once again we scored three, but this time we did not concede: after Medgyes, Csontos and Bence Varga also found the net in the final match of the year.
