October 30, 2025. It would be hard to forget this date, as it was the day when Ákos Zuigeber's extra-time goal secured a 2–1 victory against DVSC in the 4th round of the MOL Hungarian Cup. Although the scoreboard still read 1–1 in the 116th minute, a minute later Patrik Pinte played Zuigeber through, who unleashed a first-time strike into the bottom-left corner to send our team through to the next round.
“It was perhaps the most important goal of my life since playing at the senior level, as scoring a winning goal in the 117th minute is certainly no everyday feat. Obviously, it brought immense joy to me personally, but knocking out Debrecen as an NB II side was a huge achievement in itself. I was happy with the goal, but even happier that the team advanced,” our player recalled.
Nearly a year later, the two sides meet once again, as we host Debrecen at the Bozsik Aréna in Matchday 11 of the OTP Bank Liga.
“I expect a good match with a high tempo. If we stay focused enough at the back, they won't score three, and if we're focused up front as well, we are capable of scoring three. But that requires full concentration and everyone putting their heart out on the pitch. I think Debrecen also prefer attacking football, so they will likely have their chances too, but I believe that if they open up completely, we can counterattack, which will be our best opportunity to keep all three points at home.”
