Our women’s team marked the debut of our new white kit with a victory, winning 1–0 away to Slovak side Ruzomberok in their fourth pre-season match, played in Ružomberok.
We were on top throughout the match, enjoyed much more possession and played attractive football, although the hard work of recent weeks meant that freshness was understandably missing from our play. Even so, we completed the test with a clean-sheet victory, decided by Virág Sipőcz’s goal.
Martin Masaryk: “I am very happy that we were able to play another international match. We can gain a huge amount of experience from these games and we are grateful to the club management for giving us the opportunity to play such fixtures. We were better than Ruzomberok throughout and did not allow them to develop their game. The girls worked extremely hard on the pitch, hats off to them; our football has improved a lot over the past few weeks. Of course, we can also see that we need to be more deliberate in our forward play, remain calm and convert our chances at a better rate. We had three or four big opportunities in Ružomberok as well that we did not take. Overall I am satisfied with the match. The girls reacted well to everything, we keep working and we know that although things are difficult now, we believe the work will bear fruit.“
