It has been an eventful week for our second team, which is now continuing its league campaign under István Körtvélyesi, assisted by our former standout player Ivan Lovric as first-team coach. As you know, the Körtvélyesi–Lovric coaching duo were already in charge for the midweek fixture, the league match against Szegedi VSE, and immediately led our side to an 8–1 victory against the team from Csongrád.
Our second team will be at home again at 11 a.m. on Sunday, welcoming Monor SE to the academy for Matchday 6. Monor were relegated from NB II in the 2018–19 season and have played in the third division since then. Although István Halgas’s side won the South-East Group last season, they lost their promotion play-off against Gyirmót and were unable to move up at the end of the campaign.
The two sides know each other well. We have faced Monor 22 times in total, recording 12 wins, two draws and eight defeats. We last hosted our partner club in November last year, when the match ended 1–1.
