In Memoriam

September 24

— 80 years ago, master builder, architect, and the first president of Kispesti Atlétikai Club, Károly Csimár, passed away. Csimár played a pivotal role in the early history of KAC. During the club's financial struggles, he donated 1,000 gold crowns to Kispesti AC, which provided vital support at the time. The donation not only ensured the club's survival but also contributed to building its sports ground. KAC never forgot the former president's generosity, and in 1925, the general assembly unanimously and enthusiastically elected him honorary president.

— 41 years ago, Győző Gregor passed away. He joined Kispesti AC in 1926 and was part of Kispest's first cup victory that very same year. In the final against BEAC, Gregor scored the winning goal, securing a 3–2 victory for KAC in the Hungarian Cup. He remained closely tied to the club later on: in late 1927 he joined Kispest FC, returning to amateur status with KAC in 1930. He stayed with the club even after his playing days, serving as KFC clerk between 1936 and 1941, leading KAC training sessions in 1942, and working as KAC's chief cashier from 1943.

September 25

— 72 years ago, Ferenc Bátori passed away. He was a defining figure in the history of Kispesti Atlétikai Club, serving Kispest football for decades as both player and sports official. A founding and board member of KAC and former player, he took an active part in constructing the first KAC ground. He assumed numerous duties throughout the club's life: working as a clerk from 1920, later holding the roles of general secretary and secretary. In 1921 he became team manager for the youth side, and from 1923 for the senior team. When Kispest FC was established, he acted as chief cashier for the professionals. After a brief period as an inspector, he served as vice-president for nearly a decade, later becoming co-president and managing director. In the 1930s, he also played an important role leading Kispest's international tours, closely tying his name to one of the most vibrant periods in the club's history, when Kispest gained fame beyond Hungary's borders.

September 26

— 18 years ago on this day, former Kispest outside-left Géza Kalocsay passed away. Kalocsay spent a brief period at Kispest as a player between 1939 and 1940. In the red-and-black kit, he scored 10 goals in 21 league matches. He was capped twice for the national team, both times as a KAC player. Although his time in Kispest was brief, his performances and international caps made him a memorable figure in club history.

The defeat in the previous round marked the end of a fantastic streak. The Kispest side had gone unbeaten for two years and four months. Monday night's result will hopefully mark the beginning of another great run. Unfortunately, injuries continue to make things difficult for the coaching staff, but the team still picked up all three points with a confident performance.
