Information and facts: everything you need to know about the match against Szekszárd FC.

Our women’s team hosts Szekszárd FC at the Bozsik Aréna for its first home match of the season. Balázs Dörnyei’s side began its league campaign against MTK Budapest last Saturday. After a goalless first half, Cecília Mészáros scored the decisive goal and we opened the season with a 1–0 defeat. We now face Szekszárd in round two of the Simple Women’s League. Our opponents finished 11th, a relegation position, in the 2025/26 championship, but following Viktória FC’s withdrawal, Szekszárd completed the 12-team field for the next season of the women’s top flight.

What you should know about the Szekszárd women’s team:

Founded: 2021

Club colours: yellow and black

League position in 2025/26: 11th

Head coach: Attila Vágó

Major honours: NB II runners-up (2021/22)

Szekszárd’s women’s section was founded in 2021. In its first season, the team finished second in NB II behind Videoton FC Fehérvár, securing promotion to the top flight. The team played in the first division for the next three seasons but could not avoid the relegation places last season and finished 11th. After Viktória FC withdrew, Dunaújváros declined the opportunity to take its place, but the Tolna county side accepted the chance to compete in NB I. Attila Vágó’s team therefore completed the 12-team field.

Head-to-head history:

There is not a long history between the two teams, who have met just four times so far. The overall record is in our favour: two wins, one draw and one defeat. We last met the Tolna county side in April, when Eszter Csáki scored a hat-trick and Anna Sain, Eri Narita and Petra Gégény also found the net in a 6–0 victory.
