Linett Bozsik made her first start for Honvéd against Szekszárd FC. Our 19-year-old midfielder spoke about recent weeks, the first home match of the season and our league fixture against PMFC.

Linett Bozsik recently joined our club from Ferencváros. The 19-year-old midfielder signed for the green-and-whites in the summer of 2020 and progressed through their youth teams before making her debut in the Simple Women’s League. Thanks to her outstanding performances, she made her senior debut for Soroksár at just 16, soon establishing herself as a key player. Following her loan spell, she spent last season with Ferencváros’s first team, winning both the league title and the cup.

“I feel really good here at Honvéd. I think I’ve settled in, although that’s obviously always a longer process. I already knew a few people because I’d met them in the youth national teams. Everyone has been really helpful and welcoming. Last season we managed to win both the cup and the league. That is obviously always a great joy, but it wasn’t easy. I started the first half of last season well, but then suffered a serious injury that kept me out for six months. So now we’re working to get my leg fully fit again as soon as possible and for me to help the team as much as I can,” said our player, who made her Honvéd debut in the season opener against MTK and was selected by Balázs Dörnyei to start last Saturday’s home league match against Szekszárd.

“I have to say it had been such a long time since I last started that it felt strange, but I really enjoyed playing football with the girls and finally being able to play freely again. My teammates trusted me, and the coach always supported me, even when I made mistakes. I’d call it a successful start, and I hope it continues like this in future."

Our team visit PMFC on Saturday for Matchday 3 of the Simple Women’s League. The hosts have started well: they beat DVTK 4–1 in the opening round, although they left Felcsút empty-handed a week later.

“We’re playing Pécs on Saturday. We always analyse our opponents and look at their strengths and weaknesses. We also know our own strengths, and that’s what we try to build on. We try to launch attacks immediately after winning the ball back, so I hope we can play this match well and come away with a win."
