Honvéd BKE had nearly an entire squad's worth of absentees for the clash against B&K Mélykút. Danilovic, Zana, Bábik, Bárányos, Trembulyák, Youla, and Patkó were all sidelined for various reasons. With Danilovic missing as well, the team's utility man, Attila Plókai, stepped in between the sticks for the Kispest side. It has been a long time since something like this occurred: Honvéd BKE played the entire match without a single substitute.
The proceedings could be summed up in a single sentence: Kamber–Andric 3–3. Our side dominated the match from the opening whistle, yet the visitors managed to create three opportunities, all of which were thwarted by the emergency goalkeeper with spectacular saves. In the 10th minute, Andric broke the deadlock, and he went on to add two more stunning goals before the interval.
Unfortunately, Sánta picked up an injury, and with no bench available, we were forced to continue with ten men. After the break, Kamber took the spotlight: matching Andric, he also netted a hat-trick, finishing with equally gorgeous goals. Lázár could have also gotten his name on the scoresheet, but his ambitious lob from the halfway line struck the crossbar. Displaying both flair and efficiency, our side secured a fully deserved victory.
Among our direct rivals, Ferencváros, MTK, and Pénzügyőr all won, leaving the top of the table unchanged.
