Our women's team also opened the spring league season successfully, beating Kész-St. Mihály-Szeged 2–0 in Round 13 of the Simple Women's League thanks to goals from Blanka Bokor and Eszter Csáki.

Our girls began the spring season successfully, beating Viktória FC of Szombathely 2–0 in the Hungarian Cup quarter-final, so they could approach Saturday's league match against Kész-St. Mihály-Szeged with confidence. We last faced the Szeged side in Round 2 of the league, when we won 2–0 away from home.

As expected, the match began at a high tempo. Although only five minutes had passed, we were already taking our second set piece. Soon afterwards Fanni Vachter found herself in a shooting position and aimed for the top-left corner, but a visiting defender was able to clear. Our team continued to put the opposition under pressure, but despite creating numerous chances we could not take the lead. In the 19th minute Fanni Vachter, after a fine piece of skill, laid the ball off to Petra Gégény, who did not hesitate and aimed for the top-left corner, but visiting goalkeeper Fanni Aradi stretched to make the save. Over the next ten minutes, both Blanka Bokor and Fanni Vachter came close to scoring the opening goal. In the 34th minute, Vachter stepped up to take a penalty, but the Szeged goalkeeper saved again. We had to wait 42 minutes for the first goal: Franciska Simon met Horváthová's corner, and the rebound fell to Bokor Blanka who blasted it into the net with her left foot (1–0).

After the break we came close to extending our lead, but we could not convert our chances. In the 60th minute Horváthová went down but, after brief treatment, was able to continue. After Petra Gégény missed a one-on-one, in the 85th minute Fanni Vachter reached a rebound at the end of a well-constructed attack, but Szeged were able to clear. Two minutes before the end of regular time, Csáki Eszter put the icing on the cake: Vachter played the ball into her path and she calmly finished into the net (2–0). It was our 19-year-old player's first goal in NB I.

Honvéd: Széchenyi – Czinege (Narita 60.), Nyul (Csáki 60.), Krisztin, Horváthová, Williams, Vas, Gégény (Végh 92.), Vachter, Bokor (Róth 75.) Simon

Kész-St. Mihály-Szeged: Aradi – Simonovic, Nagy (Baranyi 90.), Durdevac, Popovic, Török (Horváth 77.), Juhász (Papp 90.), Palotás, Komlós, Ónodi, Barna (Horváth 77.)

Goals: Bokor (42.) Csáki (88.)

Balázs Dörnyei:  „Our plan was to show our strength from the very first moment, and the girls carried that out. A lot of what we worked on during the week appeared in our play. We created many chances and won a penalty, but beyond that we had plenty of other opportunities to score as well. Of course it would have been better to go into half-time with a more comfortable lead, because I think the difference between the teams was much greater than the scoreboard showed, but that is football. There was a period in the second half when we started playing in a way that avoided responsibility, our play became rushed and we gave the ball away more easily. In the final quarter of an hour we were able to dominate again. It gives me particular pleasure that Eszter Csáki scored her first NB I goal in Honvéd colours."

Eszter Csáki: „We had a lot of chances, but we had prepared for that too. We wanted to dominate the match and I think we managed to do so. Personally, I experienced it very positively; I am happy I could help the team with a goal, and I worked enormously hard for this."
