Hódmezővásárhely, who finished third last season, were the visitors to Budapest Honvéd II in Kispest. According to the original fixture list we would have played away, but at the visitors’ request the home advantage was switched.
We took the lead as early as the sixth minute and remained in front until the 79th minute, when Hódmezővásárhely equalised. The score did not change again before the final whistle.
Our second team will play at home again on Sunday, when Pénzügyőr will be our guests.
Zsolt Laczkó: — The team played well in the first half and we played football according to our plan. We took an early lead from a rehearsed routine. After that, however, several minor injuries forced us to make changes, so we had a reshuffled team on the pitch. In the second half the opponent imposed their game on us. They equalised late on. For the final ten minutes the substitutes had warmed into the match, we managed to raise the tempo of our play and had chances as well, but unfortunately we could not score. We played against a good team and wanted to win, but only managed a draw. Let us not forget that Hódmezővásárhely finished third in the league last season.
