We drew 2-2 with Viktória FC at the Academy in Round 10 of the Simple Women's League.

We had a chance to take the lead early in the match: Vachter found herself in a great position in the third minute, but could not convert. Not long afterwards, however, the breakthrough came — in the eighth minute Vachter finished accurately to put our team ahead. The momentum continued: Végh threatened in the 11th minute, then Vachter's shot hit the crossbar in the 20th.

We increased our lead late in the first half: in the 45th minute Koszo converted Vachter's excellent pass, allowing us to go into the break 2–0 ahead.

In the second half the visitors gradually took control. Pintér pulled one back in the 56th minute, then Virág Kovács equalised in the 63rd despite a huge save from our goalkeeper Whitmore moments earlier.

We did everything to score a winner in the closing stages: the Szombathely goalkeeper saved Csáki's shot in the 81st minute, and we continued to put the visitors' goal under heavy pressure in the final minutes, but there was no further goal.

Head coach: Dörnyei Balázs

Balázs Dörnyei: It was a similar match to the one in Pécs. Perhaps the difference was that in the first half we played more effectively and better than we did in Pécs. We were able to dominate in the same way, and at half-time there really was no problem. We led 2–0, and the margin could even have been bigger. We kept the Szombathely attackers under control without facing any serious danger.

At half-time – as I also mentioned after the match against Pécs – I don't know what happened. We discussed everything, everyone was calm and composed. We came out for the second half and within moments our play became almost panic-stricken. We played short passes when we should have cleared the ball, and cleared it when we should have played short. Our game became rushed and the match much more hectic. Szombathely started playing long balls, and unfortunately we won very few of the second balls.

I asked the girls whether it was due to tiredness, but they said they were not tired, so it is not a conditioning problem. There was simply total chaos on the pitch, and unfortunately we made two mistakes from it that allowed the opposition to score. Looking at the remaining 25–28 minutes, the draw is fair; neither team had a really big chance, perhaps we came closer to scoring the third goal. But there was too much rushing by then and we lacked the composure we had in the first half.

Of course, I could now say that it would be good if we could extend the performance we showed in the first half to the full 90 minutes, but first we have to work out what is happening to the team at half-time. This is the second time we have fallen into the same trap and our performance dropped significantly in the second half – that will be our task this week.

Rebeka Róth: I think we played well again in the first half and led 2–0 at the break. In the second half, however, we showed a completely different face and didn't play the way we did in the first. That was the problem last week too, so we need to find out what is causing it and correct it, because based on our first-half performance we really deserved the three points. But a match lasts 90 minutes, so we will work to make sure we can win in Budaörs next week.
