Our women’s team beat FTC’s youngsters 3–0 at the academy on Saturday.

There were few chances in the first half of the match and most of the play took place in midfield, before we took the lead in the 39th minute with a header from Czinege. The score did not change before the break, so we went in 1–0 ahead.

The Fradi goalkeeper saved several attempts early in the second half, so shots from Feil and Végh also failed to result in goals.

In the 71st minute Földvári won a penalty, which Szilvási converted to increase our lead to 2–0. Not long afterwards, in the 76th minute, Nyul also scored from Végh’s pass to make the final score 3–0.

The team made a good start to preparations and the new players also received opportunities. Balázs Dörnyei’s side will next play a friendly away to Topolya next Saturday.

Budapest Honvéd FC – FTC-Telekom 3–0 (1–0)

Balázs Dörnyei:
“I think it was good for a first match, and everyone got roughly the same amount of playing time. It is important that we won the game; last year during preparations that was difficult for us. We were fortunate because today was perhaps the best weather of the week and, compared with winter, we were able to play in particularly good conditions. We faced a sporting and well-prepared opponent, and I think we ended the week with a very good match. We scored three goals and kept the opposition more or less without a chance, which is always very important. We are also happy that our new players were able to get on the pitch. We still have tasks to work on regarding their integration, but I think they receive every possible form of support – whether from the staff, the club or their team-mates. A very positive, close-knit little community is beginning to take shape.”

Petra Nyul:
“I’m very happy to be here among the girls, and I think the first friendly went well. I’m especially pleased that I was able to make my debut with a goal and help the team that way. The environment is very welcoming, everyone is likeable, and I already knew some of my team-mates from before, which perhaps gave me an advantage. I genuinely really enjoy being here and I hope that together we can complete a successful preparation period.”
