The two teams set a good tempo in the first half, with few goalscoring chances, which could be attributed to the high speed of the game. Even so, Schildkraut had to produce two excellent saves.
In the second half Szeged took the lead from a counter-attack and then exploited an individual error to make the final score 2-0.
Our technical manager Dominik Constantino assessed the match as follows: „We did not start the match badly, but early on we had to substitute Ráhel Váradi because of an injury, which we hope is not serious. Unfortunately, in the first half we could not create chances and were able to get very few balls into the attacking zone – our play was mainly characterised by possession. In the second half, however, a more aggressive team took the field and we tried to start defending high up the pitch, from which we were able to win the ball and create chances. At the end of the match we conceded two goals, both from situations that could have been avoided. Overall, though, it was a useful friendly for both sides.”
After the match, the girls are recovering at the Hagymatikum in Makó as part of a team-building programme. This was our women's team's final friendly; they will next be in action in the league against MTK on 1 March.
