Women’s football in Pécs has a tradition spanning more than half a century. Its history goes back to 1970, when a young girl from Pécs who wanted to play football placed an advertisement in Ifjúsági Magazin looking for others who enjoyed the game. Women’s small-sided football teams were already being formed in the 1970s. Organised women’s football then began on a larger scale in Pécs in 1989, when Pécsi Dohánygyár founded a women’s team and entered the national championship.

PMFC finished eighth last season. Their most recent league title came in 2023–24, when they won the second division and secured promotion to the top flight.

Our head-to-head record:

The two sides have met four times in the top division so far, with an even record of one win apiece and two draws. Our latest encounter with the side from Baranya was in May in Matchday 20 of the Simple Women’s League, and it produced a dramatic ending. After a goalless first half, four goals arrived in seven minutes late on. Our defender Levandrea Williams equalised in the 87th minute to make the final score 2–2.
