The 25-year-old Moroccan midfielder played in Italy and Switzerland early in his career before moving to FC Atert Bissen in Luxembourg in the winter of 2024. Eddarraj played a key role in the club’s first-ever league title, appearing in 26 of a possible 30 league matches last season. He also won the Luxembourg Super Cup with his team in June.
Winning the title earned Atert Bissen a place in Champions League qualifying, but their run ended in the first round against KÍ Klaksvík, who had also eliminated Ferencváros in the 2023–24 season. The Luxembourg club then entered Europa League qualifying, where they faced ETO FC Győr. Although Hungarian media reports also rated Eddarraj as one of his team’s best performers, it was Győr who eventually progressed. Eddarraj is a hardworking, technically skilled player who can produce unexpected moments and is quick for his position. He could be a major asset as our team works towards its goals.
“When I heard Honvéd were interested in me, I didn’t have to think for long. I signed my contract with great excitement and high hopes. As soon as I arrived in Kispest, I felt I had joined a historic club that was also Ferenc Puskás’s former team. I’ve watched all four matches so far and I think we only need a little more luck to get results. I’ve played in front of large crowds in European qualifiers, but I can’t wait to show what I can do at the Bozsik Arena in front of our own fans. The more people attend a match, the more it motivates me. I want to repay the trust placed in me with good performances. ”
