Balázs Dörnyei's team face a decisive match on Wednesday: only one game stands between them and a place in the Hungarian Cup final. Our team started the spring successfully, first beating Viktória FC and then Kész St. Mihály-Szeged. Last Saturday we also returned from Felcsút with something to show for our efforts, earning a goalless draw away to third-placed PAFC. As for the cup match, we have a score to settle with our opponents, having lost 3–2 away to DVTK in Round 5 of the league in the autumn.
Our captain Sára Krisztin spent four years with Diósgyőr before joining us. She says a very well-prepared team with an excellent mentality will be waiting for them in the semi-final.
“I have great respect for DVTK; I spent four very good years there. Even now my voice still catches a little when I have to talk about them because they hold a special place in my heart. Nevertheless, once the match starts I will be able to put that aside. I will focus completely on my task and on achieving our goal with the team, which is reaching the final. They are a team with a very good mentality and I'm sure they will be extremely well prepared. We already played there in the autumn; unfortunately we got burned and lost. I think we have something to repay and I hope we will” – she said, before stressing that she always wants to give her maximum in every match.
“I try to motivate everyone before the game, myself included. I prepare for every match in the same way: I think in advance about what I can give to the team, but I also have to focus on my own game. I always try to give everything and help the team to the best of my ability.”
