Convincing victory in Budaörs

The match got off to an excellent start for our team: Vachter put us ahead as early as the 12th minute, then around the half-hour mark Róth doubled our advantage. We controlled the game confidently throughout, never relinquishing command of the match, and continued to play composed, organised football in the second half. The opposition created very little, while we fashioned several promising attacking opportunities. Vachter struck again in the 72nd minute to settle the contest once and for all.

With this victory, we moved up to eighth place in the table.

In the final autumn round of the Simple League, we visit Ferencváros next Saturday.

Dörnyei Balázs: “We were able to play a very good match. For weeks we have been talking about the need to reduce the number of goals we concede, and today the opposition may have had only one chance – our defence was excellent. The team was extremely focused, and the players followed about 90% of the instructions they were given in the dressing room. We showed tremendous fighting spirit on the pitch today. Our finishing was also very good, we broke through their defensive line many times, scored two very beautiful goals and one really hard-fought one as well. Today we scored every type of goal that should characterise this team. We can be very proud of our team.”

Fanni Vachter: “In today's match, what we had planned finally happened. The game started the way we wanted: we managed to take an early lead and then doubled it after a corner. I think compared with the previous match we improved in the way we came out for the second half with the same mentality as in the first. That was very important, because it allowed us to take all three points. Budaörs did try to put us under pressure in the second half, but once we managed to score another goal, from then on we were really able to see out the three points with confidence.”
