Szabolcs Földi's team represented our club at the MOL UTE Summer Cup, which featured ten teams. The field was divided into two groups of five, with matches lasting 25 minutes, followed by a knockout stage in which games were played over two 20-minute halves. Our side faced hosts Újpest, Marosvásárhelyi SE, Sepsi OSK, FK Inter Bratislava and Csíkszereda. Our U13s returned home undefeated as tournament champions, with five victories and one draw.
Richárd Takács's players have not slowed down after the summer break. As we know, they won international trophies one after another last season and have picked up exactly where they left off at the start of this one. This time our U14s came out on top in a five-team international tournament in Slovakia. Our head coach emphasised that the competition provided an excellent opportunity for the players to revisit everything they learned last season.
Our U16s lifted the trophy at the second Csaba Burus Memorial Tournament in Csíkszereda. Tamás Szamosi's team beat Topolya and then Sepsi OSK in the group stage before overcoming hosts Csíkszereda on penalties in the final. Dániel Schill was named player of the tournament.

Head coach Szabolcs Földi: “Before the tournament we set ourselves four main objectives, and the team delivered on a great many of them. We played with an excellent mentality, as a close-knit group, taking the initiative and showing creativity. We won plenty of individual battles and our play became increasingly purposeful from match to match. It was great to see the children supporting each other, which I believe was crucial to our "success".”

Head coach Richárd Takács: “At the end of the first week of the season we took part in a five-team international tournament in Slovakia, playing two 60-minute matches on each day. It was an excellent opportunity for our players to begin accumulating match minutes and revisit what they learned last year. Spending three days together also gave us the chance to share new experiences off the pitch and strengthen the bond we have built over the past few years. The effect of the summer break was still noticeable in many moments during the games, but we also saw many of the positive qualities that characterise this group. The weekend offered valuable lessons to everyone and served our development well overall. Thanks to the many parents who accompanied the team and supported the children in such a sporting manner throughout!”

We're particularly delighted that we didn't concede a single goal throughout the tournament, keeping clean sheets in all three games! We certainly needed disciplined and solid defending because we faced extremely good, strong opponents. The competition proved once again just how different the level is in international matches. We played stronger, faster and well-prepared teams, giving our players a tremendous opportunity to improve and gain valuable experience. We're proud of the team's performances, their attitude and the progress we can see from match to match! Thanks to the organisers for the invitation and a top-quality tournament. Congratulations to every team that took part!”
