As is known, last Saturday we hosted defending champions Ferencváros at the academy. The green-and-whites took the lead late in the first half and held on to their advantage until the final whistle, so we ended the round with a one-goal defeat. On Sunday, however, another important league match awaits our women's team, as we travel to Miskolc to face DVTK at the DVTK Training Centre in Round 7 of the Simple Women's League.
“Unfortunately, we lost at home to Ferencváros in the previous round. We prepared for the match believing that we could be contenders and we wanted to win it. I think we were worthy opponents, but we conceded a frustrating goal and could not equalise afterwards. Everyone felt there was something missing, because every day we work so that we can leave the pitch as winners. In a player's career there is always a process of learning how to deal with defeats and victories. By now I have reached the point where a defeat gives me extra adrenaline, so I am really looking forward to the next match. If I could, I would play the next game the very next day so that I could prove myself and repay the trust placed in me” – our 27-year-old forward summed up.
The training centre will be far from unfamiliar to Panna Nagy, as she spent the past four seasons in Diósgyőr, where she scored 11 league goals last season and also helped her team with two goals in the cup competition.
“Because I became an NB I player in Diósgyőr, it will always hold a special place in my heart and in my career. At the same time, I now play football in Kispest, so I work for this team and for this badge. The move was a very important part of my career: I can learn much more and play at a higher level. That is why every week I try to put in a great deal of work, because that is what will bear fruit.”
Our forward stressed that DVTK's squad changed significantly over the summer, although the core of the team is still made up of experienced players with NB I backgrounds.
“It is a slightly more special situation to return to Diósgyőr now as a player for another team, because that side has changed quite a lot. Many players have changed, but the place, the pitch and the complex are still the same. I return with very good feelings, but I will not be playing against the same team I used to belong to. The core of this side is still made up of experienced players who have played in NB I on several occasions, so we have to be ready for the battle. We have to prepare for every match as if we were playing the previous champions.”
