U19
Following their 1–0 victory over Ikarus BSE, our U19s picked up where they left off, this time getting the better of Czech side Artis Brno. Márton Bogdánfi’s team built a three-goal lead in the first half thanks to goals from Milán Balaskó, Rupert Komlósi and Ádám Csörgő, and held on to it until the final whistle. Our academy players next travel to Hódmezővásárhely on Wednesday.

Márton Bogdánfi, head coach:
“We produced an excellent first half. We controlled the match both in and out of possession, creating plenty of chances and converting them. The team is on the right track, and we want to extend that performance across entire matches. The second half was somewhat more even, with most of the play in midfield, but our goal was never under threat. It is also important to us that we managed to keep another clean sheet.”

Our U17 team also enjoyed an eventful week, playing two friendlies. They beat the Czech side by five goals, with Botond Szabó scoring twice and Botond Rotár, Márk Jakab and Tolani Babalola adding one each. István Körtvélyesi’s side then hosted Monor SE’s U19s at the academy and won 1–0.

“Our defending was of a very high standard, and we have made major progress in our organisation. We built attacks very well after winning possession and finished our moves effectively. We were already 2–0 up by the tenth minute, which gave the entire team confidence and momentum. We maintained an excellent approach and standard throughout the match, and several players also made significant progress in their individual performances and abilities.”

“At the start of the match, we lacked the necessary concentration and aggression and were late getting into the right positions several times. Our play improved over time; we won the ball with our pressing and managed to score. In the second half we played much more freely and combined better, creating numerous chances. Overall it was a positive match, but we still need to work on our possession, faster decision-making and final passes."
Our scorer: Szabó B. (40)

Tamás Szamosi, head coach:
“We played an excellent match against a very good side. We had some dips in performance, and the hosts took advantage, but overall I am satisfied with what we showed. At 3–2, we created a huge chance that unfortunately went begging. If we had scored then, we might even have turned the match around. I can say without exaggeration that, of all our pre-season opponents so far, this Austrian side was the best organised and perhaps the strongest. That makes this match particularly valuable. Like all our other international fixtures, it was excellent preparation for our upcoming domestic league matches. We can really improve against opponents of this calibre, and that is exactly what we need before the season begins.”
U14
Richárd Takács’s players tested themselves against Austria Wien’s age-group team. Bence Márta, Béla Pályka and Vince Gál all got on the scoresheet as our U14s secured a 3–1 victory away to the hosts.

Richárd Takács, head coach:
“We have just played our most useful match of the season so far against well-trained, dynamic opposition who maintained a high intensity throughout. We struggled to match the tempo in the opening 15 to 20 minutes; the hosts had more possession and imposed their game on us. Even so, we managed to score towards the end of the first quarter. We gradually grew into the match after that and began to make more and more of what we wanted happen on the pitch, ultimately earning a deserved victory. Our opponents posed a major challenge in every respect, so the match was excellent for our players’ development.”
