Last Wednesday István Körtvélyesi's team recorded their first victory of the season with a convincing 8–1 win over Szegedi VSE. After the midweek round, on Sunday they hosted defending NB III South-East Group champions Monor SE at the academy and drew 1–1 with our partner club.
Our team continue their league campaign in Szolnok on Saturday. Szolnoki MÁV FC first appeared in the top flight in the 1938-1939 season and have played ten NB I seasons in total. Their greatest successes include winning the Hungarian Cup in 1941 and finishing third in the league in 1941–42. In 2025, due to financing problems, the club announced that it would not enter a team in the national championship for the 2025/2026 season. With the support of the club management and the municipality, they ultimately managed to compete in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Division I, which they won, securing their place in the third tier.
