Head coach Balázs Dörnyei:
“We have completed a very useful trip and played in good conditions. Once again I would like to thank Topolya for their hospitality; we got to know a very likeable team, although we had already played them in the summer. It was a good-paced match played at an international tempo. Compared with last week we were able to take a small step forward in every area: team play, defending and transitions. I also consider it very important that we did not concede; the team defended very solidly. We created more chances than last week, and against a much stronger opponent. Obviously there are still things to refine in our game, but I would add that the players received their peak load this week and nevertheless produced a very good performance both mentally and physically, so I thanked them for their work. They have now been given two extra days of rest to prepare for the fourth week’s workload, while we continue our work. I hope we can keep improving in the same way in the coming matches.”
Franciska Simon:
“We played a very useful friendly today. I’m happy that we managed to finish the match without conceding. It is important that after last week’s friendly we took a step forward both defensively and offensively. We produced many nice moves and scored one goal from them. It is also important that we are in the middle of our heaviest workload and, in my opinion, the team has worked very well overall so far.”
Balázs Dörnyei’s side will next be in action next Saturday, when they play a friendly against Sturm Graz in Szombathely.
