After the cup final, our team returned to league action and drew 2–2 with PMFC last Sunday in Round 20 of the Simple Women's League. Although the teams went into half-time at 0–0, the final ten minutes brought a rapid exchange of goals.
“We were disappointed because our aim was to win and take all three points. At the same time, we were the team chasing the result, so if I had to assess the match afterwards, I would say that from that point of view things were going more against us, but fortunately we managed to rescue a draw. If there had been another goal in us, we would have been even happier, but this time we had to settle for this,” said our player, adding that the team had been left with a sense of disappointment after the Hungarian Cup final but had managed to move on; the league match helped them take the next step.
On Friday, in Round 21 of the league, we visit Viktória FC, who are in the relegation zone. The previous round could hardly have gone worse for the team from Vas, as they lost by five goals away to PAFC while Szekszárd beat DVTK 3–0 and moved ahead of the Szombathely side. For that reason our task will not be easy, because our opponents will do everything they can to avoid relegation.
“We are definitely travelling to Szombathely to bring home all three points. I do not think we can base anything on what happened in the cup match when we played them. We expect a well-prepared Szombathely side, so we will need to give everything. From now on, only victory is acceptable in every match, and that is the attitude we will take onto the pitch.”
