Defeat in the opener

MTK started the match with greater confidence, and after just five minutes Fanny Vágó had a serious effort. Our first Honvéd chance came in the 14th minute when Kurkutovic tried her luck from distance. The blue-and-whites put our goal under heavy pressure and Schildkraut had to make several saves. In the 21st minute the visitors took the lead through Dia Csányi. (0-1)

In the 41st minute Fanny Vágó took advantage of a defensive mistake and doubled MTK's lead. (0-2)

After the restart, substitute Bernadett Zágor decided the match in the 49th minute, her goal putting MTK 3-0 up. The visitors continued to play with more threat and greater activity. In the 70th minute Vágó had another effort, but our goalkeeper made a fine save. There were no more goals; MTK justified their status as favourites and deservedly won.

Our head coach Martin Masaryk assessed the match as follows: "Unfortunately this match did not go the way we wanted, we did not play well. Congratulations to MTK, they deserved to win. We have to start working even harder. I still believe in the team, and I hope this defeat will motivate them even more and that we will learn from our mistakes."

In the next round of the Simple Women's League, next Saturday from 13:00, we will be away to Astra in Üllő.
