As previously reported, our women's team claimed a two-goal victory in Szekszárd last Saturday thanks to goals from striker Fanni Vachter and defender Maria Palama, marking their eighth consecutive competitive win.
"I think the weekend match against Szekszárd wasn't among the team's best performances so far, but you have to stand firm in games like that and secure all three points. Even if it wasn't the prettiest or our best display, we did our duty and brought home the three points," said our player, Petra Nyul. Although it might feel as if the season 'has only just begun', we are already approaching the final matches of the year. Only three competitive fixtures remain for Balázs Dörnyei's side in 2026: on Saturday we host PMFC, followed by clashes against ETO FC and Újpest.
"We are preparing for PMFC with one hundred percent focus, because we cannot afford to drop a single point. I think the team always aims to deliver its maximum, and that's the spirit we'll carry onto the pitch for this upcoming game. We would like to score several goals. Everyone is driven to prove themselves, especially looking ahead to the two matches that follow, as we dropped vital points against Győr and Újpest earlier," she added, emphasizing that the competition between teams is extremely tight this season, meaning any round can spring an unexpected surprise.
"I believe every single round can cause surprises this year, as any result is possible even at the top of the table—in fact, that applies to the entire league. The battle is extremely fierce, and virtually anything can happen among the top five or six teams."
