We returned to the DVTK Training Centre with positive memories, as our last visit to Miskolc was in March, when our victory over DVTK secured a place in the Hungarian Cup final. Over the summer, however, DVTK's women's team underwent major changes and began the 2026-2027 season in cooperation with its partner club from Eger. The squad is therefore made up of players from both Diósgyőr and Eger, while László Vitányi took over the team from Gábor Bém. The league season has not gone well for our opponents so far: they had failed to collect a point in their matches before this fixture and therefore went into the game from last place in the table.
In the 10th minute Simona Horváthová took a corner, but her delivery caused no difficulty for home goalkeeper Dóra Orgoványi. Shortly afterwards Eszter Csáki crossed into the middle and our defender Levandrea Williams glanced the ball on inside the penalty area, but Orgoványi was alert again and tipped it away from under the crossbar. We took the lead in the 17th minute: after a Horváthová corner, Maria Palama found the net (0–1). Our Greek defender thus scored her third league goal of the 2026-2027 season. We did not have to wait long for the second: our young player Eszter Csáki got into a scoring position and calmly lifted the ball into the net (0–2). In the 40th minute we extended our lead again: after bringing the ball under control, our captain Sára Krisztin fired left-footed into the near corner from around 18 metres (0–3). After the interval Horváthová reacted to a rebound and put the ball into the net, scoring her first league goal in Honvéd colours (0–4). In the 51st minute Petra Nyul crossed into the middle and the arriving Panna Nagy headed goalwards, but the home goalkeeper produced another save. We created several more chances afterwards, but either the post denied us or Orgoványi made the save. In the 89th minute, however, Fanni Vachter put the finishing touch on the victory by curling the ball into the far corner (0–5).
Our women's team continue their league campaign with a midweek round, hosting PAFC at the academy at 15:00 on Wednesday before travelling to Astra HFC on Sunday.

Balázs Dörnyei, head coach: “We largely managed to put into practice on the pitch what we had prepared for. I was more satisfied with our play in the second half. It is true that we scored more goals in the first, but those came either from situations we forced or from good reactions after set pieces. Our play was good in the second half, although luck was not quite on our side. It is important that we were able to record a relatively comfortable victory. It is rare for us to score four or five goals in a match, and that should always be appreciated."
Sára Krisztin: “We came for the three points and came out of the dressing room today determined to win. It is good for the team that we can draw confidence from this. Everyone worked very hard and we created a lot of chances; perhaps we could have scored even more, but this is still a very good result. Another important match is coming on Wednesday."
