As previously reported, we returned home with three points and our fourth consecutive victory following a nine-goal triumph over Videoton FC Fehérvár. Our defender highlighted that having multiple players on the scoresheet against Székesfehérvár did wonders for the team's confidence.
“I think scoring nine goals against Vidi helped a lot, and we were especially pleased that several players found the net, which gave everyone a confidence boost. I believe it was a very successful match. The dressing room is really united; winning games obviously helps, but the atmosphere is always great and it's a pleasure to work together. I always strive to give one hundred percent in every match. That's not always possible, but that's what my teammates are there for—they always back me up. It's a wonderful feeling knowing I can always count on them.”
This weekend, our campaign continues not in the league, but in the Simple Women's Cup. Our first stop takes us to Zalaegerszeg, where we visit NB II Western Group side ZTE FC on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Simona Horváthová brings a wealth of cup experience to the table. Our Slovakian player joined Győr from FKM Nové Zámky in the 2023–2024 season, spending two seasons there. During that time, she celebrated two Hungarian Cup victories, and last season she also played a crucial role in leading our women's team back to the cup final after a ten-year hiatus.
“A cup match is always different from a league fixture. We don't know much about Zalaegerszeg since we haven't played them before, but our objective is to win the match and progress in the cup. Playing in a cup final is always an incredible feeling—I've experienced it three times so far, lifting the trophy twice. I hope to do the same again. I believe we have a better squad than last year, so our goal will definitely be reaching the final, and once we're there, we want to win it.”
